We recorded this album to its completion on the island over the course of almost six months. It has a similar mix of styles as the first CD, with blues and Caribbean influences dominant. Having the opportunity for many of my musician friends lending their support, these songs capture the sounds I had going through my head while writing them. Some of the selections on the Cd, such as “Simple song”, “Make Me a Move” and “Leavin’ You Babe”. I wrote in the 80’s and performed solo for years. To hear them come to life with the backing of the Compadres has been extremely gratifying for me. Anyone who knows West End can probably follow me down the road on “West End Stroll”. Track twelve, “Tiene Que Cuidar/ Hold’em Joe” was inspired by a very bad night experienced by some very good friends.

The CD entitled “Roatanified” was recorded at Estudio Diaz in LaCeiba, Honduras during the first few weeks of the new millennium. It was my first real recording experience, but me and TUNU’ bandmates Lyle Burke, Sito Hinds and Wade Forbes had been playing regularly and were up to the task.
The selections of this project, all original, were for the most part inspired by life and experiences during my first 27 yrs on Roatan, the emphasis being on the island as it was in the 70’s. I spent my early years in Crawfish Rock on the north side starting a family and being a member of a small community where life went on as it had for generations before. Those years remain my most special and memorable especially in light of the totally different island in which we find ourselves today. I feel most fortunate for having had the opportunity to have lived here during those times. My songs on this album are a tribute to the Bay Islanders and a fast disappearing way of life.
